The anticipation of waiting for 7pm to come felt something like when you were a child and Halloween was about to happen. You start to get ready and you have this sense that a lot of other people are getting ready too. Then, it begins. The posts, the photos, the light and the love...streaming through the computer screen and out into the world for all to see. It's truly a beautiful sight.
It feels like the one night where people pay attention. They take the time to look and listen. They take a moment to stop.
We lit all the candles we had in our great room. Our dark rooms became warm and glowing and the smell was amazing. It felt so comforting. Samuel's table was at the center of it all.
I watch on FB as hundreds of babyloss families and the people who care about them posted photo after photo of beautiful memorials to these very loved and missed little babies.
It's so beautiful, but so heartbreaking.
This year seemed so much more "attended" than last year. I think it's really catching on in the babyloss world that it's a night of remembrance but also healing and beauty.
Many of our friends took the time to light a candle for Samuel. It really means so much to us. I'm always sad that more people don't join in (how hard is it to light a candle and take a photo?) but it makes those who do feel so much more special to us.
Thank you!! To everyone who helped make last night beautiful for us. It does our hearts good to see our little guy being remembered.
Here is to all the beautiful babies missing from their mama and daddy's arms. You are LOVED and you are MISSED!
